Who we are

[Company legal name] runs CountMeIn. This policy says what we collect, who we share it with, and how to ask for deletion. Questions go to [contact email]. The Terms of Service cover how commits and payouts work.

What we collect

We collect your name, your email, and event data. That includes the title, description, location, dates, prices, itinerary, votes, and commits you enter. Sign-in uses your email address. If you provide a name, we store that too.

If you send invites, we store the addresses you enter so we can send the message and so we can limit repeat sends. We also store the fact that a message was sent.

If you ask a question on an event, we store the question, the organizer's reply, and any report of that question. A public question is visible on the event page with your display name. A private question is visible only to you and the organizer. Reports are visible to admins.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. You enter card details in Stripe's form. We do not store card numbers. We store Stripe customer and payment-method identifiers, charge and refund status, and the payout status Stripe reports for an organizer account.

Email

Email is sent via Cloudflare. That includes sign-in links, commit notices, invites, question and answer notices, replacement notes, and cancellation notices. The message contains only what that email needs, such as an event title, a link, and a charge or refund amount.

Cookies

We use cookies for sessions. The session cookie keeps you signed in on this browser. It is an httpOnly cookie named cmi_session. We do not use it to advertise to you.

Who we share data with

We share an attendee's name and email with the organizer of the event they commit to, so the organizer can run the event and handle replacements. Those addresses are not published on the public event page. If the organizer lists an event publicly, the event details they wrote can appear in the public list.

We share payment data with Stripe so cards can be saved, charged, refunded, and paid out. We share email content with Cloudflare so messages can be delivered. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to investigate fraud or non-delivery.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep account, event, commit, invite, and payment records while the account is open, and for as long as we need them for payouts, refunds, chargebacks, taxes, and fraud checks. Sign-in links expire and work once. Session cookies expire. When we no longer need a record for those reasons, we delete it or detach it from the account.

Deletion requests

Email [contact email] to ask for a copy of your account data or to ask us to delete it. We will delete what we can. We may keep records we still need for a payout, a refund, a chargeback, a tax duty, or a fraud investigation.

Children

CountMeIn is not for children under 13. Do not create an account, commit, or send us information if you are under 13. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it.
