Before anyone is charged

A commit saves a card. It does not charge it. If the deadline passes before the minimum is reached, nobody is charged, and there is no refund to make. Once the minimum is reached, the saved cards are charged.

After the minimum is reached

There are no refunds after the minimum is reached unless the event is cancelled, the organizer lowers the ticket price, or you drop out and an approved replacement pays, as described below. Commits stay open until the deadline or 14 days after the minimum is reached, whichever is sooner. The price you agreed to is the ticket, the platform fee (currently 5%, shown at checkout), and payment processing shown at checkout.

If the event is cancelled

If the event is cancelled, the refund covers the full amount that was charged. That includes the ticket price, the platform fee, and the processing amount. The organizer can cancel before a payout is sent. After a payout has been sent, [Company legal name] cancels the event so the payout can be reversed and the charges can then be refunded in full.

If the organizer lowers the price

The organizer can lower the ticket price. If you have not been charged yet, your saved card is charged the new price. The platform fee locked on your commit and the processing amount are recalculated on that price.

If you were already charged, the refund is the ticket difference only. The platform fee is not refunded on a price drop, and neither is the processing fee from the original charge. A price drop is not available after the ticket money has been transferred to the organizer. A cost buffer is part of the ticket price. When the organizer releases unused buffer, that amount is refunded the same way: the ticket difference only, and the platform fee is not refunded.

Before the minimum is reached, the organizer can raise the price. You are asked to confirm the new price. If you don't confirm in time, you are dropped and not charged. After the minimum is reached, the price cannot go up. The organizer can cancel the event instead, and that refund covers the full amount.

Dropping out

After you have been charged, you can ask to drop out. A dropout can be replaced only with the organizer's approval, and only while commits are still open. The organizer approves a replacement by email.

When the replacement pays, the dropout is refunded the ticket price plus the platform fee. Processing fees are not refunded. On a charge of the amounts shown at checkout, that means the ticket and the platform fee come back, and the processing amount stays with the card payment.

Chargebacks

A card dispute is a chargeback under the Terms of Service. Contact the organizer first if the problem is the event. We may hold or reverse the organizer's payout to cover a chargeback. Filing a chargeback does not replace this refund policy where a refund on this page already applies.
